We know what we can do with a trained body, but what happens when we begin to train our brain?
Michael's Story
Michael is the founder of Lucent Chiropractic Neurology. He has spent his professional career studying and observing the function of the central nervous system and how it governs the expression of mental and physical health.
As a neurologically based chiropractor he has utilized and developed techniques which influence the central nervous system to improve the health of thousands of patients. In the 80’s he worked with using peripheral nervous system activation to influence better communication between the brain and the body. In the 90’s he earned diplomate status in acupuncture so that he might better understand the movement and function of electrical energy in the body. As his studies continued he worked with autistic children in mid career to improve cognitive function and social responsiveness.
In 2007 he was involved in a serious accident which confined him to a hospital for a month and then to a long recovery period. He was able to use this period to observe his brain and bodily injuries and develop a comprehensive plan of rehabilitation. This work resulted in a greater empathy for his patients and a more solid conviction of the capacity for change in the human brain and body.
Through all of this he gained understanding and appreciation of the role of the brain and central nervous system in human health and successful adaptation to a changing environment. His current neurology focus is on the imaging of connections in the living brain to identify the driving factors behind the neurobiology of cognition and health.
He has earned Diplomate status in Functional Neurology with the American Chiropractic Neurology Board. A chiropractic neurologist is a Doctor of Chiropractic that has undertaken post-doctoral coursework in functional neurology and passed the rigorous written and performance exams required for certification by the ACNB. He continues to develop his specific focus on repairing dysfunction in the communication systems of the human brain. The intent of Lucent Neurology is to advance this focus.
